Woodland Cottage

« Back to Project List

Project Goal: To build a garden studio overlooking a woodland environment while preserving and utilizing an existing stone wall.

Project Description: Inspired by the design of Magma's 2010 Rhode Island Flower Show display, this client wanted to build a similar structure in their woodland setting. This garden studio, made using post and beam construction, has a stone facade with custom-built, granite window and door framing. The remaining 3 sides are pine, board and batten. Generously sized picture windows  allow for expansive views to the landscape beyond. A potting shed on the lower level completes the structure.
