Project Goal: To turn a small, dark, overgrown backyard into an entertainment and play space that can accommodate an outdoor kitchen, fire pit, seating area, basketball hoop, and an open lawn.

Project Description:  The challenge on this site was to create a space that would be large enough to include all the project goals while still being aesthetically pleasing and fully functional. The existing bluestone and brick patio was removed and replaced with a full-color bluestone patio bordered with salvaged granite that is large enough to accommodate lounging, sitting by the firepit, basketball games, and most importantly, an outdoor kitchen. The kitchen includes a 36" grill, refrigerator, trash center, and "The Big Green Egg", as well as a bar style dining area. Extensive drainage work was done to make sure the water from the patio was captured underground and existing downspouts were directed into a series of drywells. A newly graded lawn area was created to allow for sports play and a rope swing adds the final touch.
